Re-envision & Re Design of The Vitra Museum

Re-Envision & Re-Design of The Vitra Museum

LOCATION "Greek Islands"

Relocating The Vitra Museum from relativity flat site, with swiping green landscapes to a Greek Island setting on the hill sides, the reason the hill sides of the Greek islands would suit perfectly for the museum is because to begin with the museum already has a white wash exterior surface, but the form of the museum will set itself apart, with the notion of blending in with its white washed walls, but at the same time because of its de constructive architecture, the museum does not sit in with the context with the buildings surrounding it.

EXPERIENCE "ANDO"

The different experiences that patrons of the museum should take away after visiting the museum, In my mind should not only be just looking at some elegantly designed pieces of furniture but also take away with them that the way the building has been re designed with the different ways of letting in light and the shadow lines how it reacts with the different surfaces of the museum and what shadows are casted at different times of the day, by adding in windows or opening at specific place, controlling the patrons observations to a particular vista.

INTERACTION "Scarpa"

Main form of transport around the museum would be on foot, to give the patrons to the museum a different experience, I thought a good way to achieve this would be having them interact with the museum, presenting them with unique arrangement of getting from one gallery to another, for example presenting them with a stair that is unique in its design, or a blade wall that hides the next gallery. And the use of raised platforms to either display the pieces of furniture or platforms where patrons may get up on so that they may better take photographs of the pieces of furniture.
